| Characteristics |
This
superb cotoneaster has pendulous branches that are swamped with white flowers
in spring and brilliant and plentiful clusters of red fruits in autumn.
The plant is often grown on a single stem to make a small weeping tree.
The branches being somewhat wayward, give the striking tree an individual,
rather informal effect. It makes a lovely specimen for a small garden. Its
shiny green leaves are quite eye-catching and the masses of red berries
carry through from autumn through the winter. It has pretty, small white
flowers in June followed by showy, bright red, autumn berries. This upright
evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub forms a lovely tree with weeping branches
when grown as a standard. Like most Cotoneasters, it can tolerant a wide
range of conditions including dry soil. |
